About Myself
I developed my art skills by working with different mediums such as paper tole, faux painting and home projects. I was a florist for about seven years. There l enjoyed creating unique designs with fresh and artificial flowers. Looking for something different, l took a course in fused glass and how to use a kiln. I was hooked! Today l own a kiln and make coasters, dishware and wall art. My home business name is –Inspired Glass—

Procedure
Using a glass cutter l cut the glass to the size of the project that l am making. Then l pick different colors and cut more glass to make a second layer on top of the first. I usually decorate with smaller glass pieces to make a final layer. From there each piece needs to be washed, dried and put on the kiln shelf which has been coated with a wash mixture so that the glass will not stick to shelf. The kiln is computerized so l put in the procedure that l want and it will automatically bring the glass up to temperature depending if I want it to melt into a liquid, partial melt to adhere it together or slump to take the shape of the mold. This usually takes most of the day and it is exciting to see what it looks like when it is done. This is a really enjoyable craft but you cannot be in a rush and need patients because the glass moves easy and you get cut quite a few times… but the results are worth it!!!
