The Town of Millertown is hosting the 2nd Annual Red Indian Lake Fish Derby from June 12 to 14, 2015. Come and get hooked with us.
Red Indian Lake - 2nd largest Lake in Newfoundland is the fish area.
Participants will be fishing for Ouananiche (landlocked salmon) and trout.
Fish Derby time frame is Friday, June 13, 2014 @ 6:00 p.m. to June 15, 2014 @ 11:00 a.m.
To ensure that participants have the opportunity to weigh in their catch and still be able to consume the catch, weigh in times will be:
•Friday, June 13, 2014 from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
•Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
•Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 8:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.
•Sunday, June 15, 2014 from .10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Closing Ceremonies and awarding of prizes at 12:00 noon on Father's Day, June 15, 2014 at the Town Hall in Millertown.
Registration will include:
•Fish Derby Rules
•Registration Form with Waiver
• Pictures of fish that qualify for prizes: Ouananiche (landlocked salmon) and Lake Trout
• A survey to help us learn from this year's experience for next year
Deadline for registration is June 13, 2014 @ 4:00 p.m.
Participants who register by June 10, 2014 will have their name entered in a draw for prizes.

Cost to participate:
•Adults $25
•Couples $40
•Children under 16 is $10 but must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Red Indian Lake Fish Derby Rules:
Simple “Respect” the water, the fish and other participants
To qualify for prizes, participant wilt:
•Ensure Children under 16 are accompanied by an adult participant.
•Register for the Derby no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday June 13, 2014.
•Fish in Red Indian Lake!
•Follow fishing regulations required in the Red Indian Lake.
•Follow safe boating and water practices.
•Fish during the time frame from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 to 10:00 a.m. on June 15, 2014.
•Fish for the biggest and longest Ouananich (otherwise known as landlocked salmon) and of course our Lake Trout.
•Weigh in fish by no later than 11:00 a.m. on Sunday June 15, 2014.
•Share information on the fishing experience by completing the survey and taking lots of pictures to share because we really want to know about the one that got away.
•Complete the registration and sign waiver on form.
