Intelligent Food Safety is very pleased to offer the National Food Safety Training Program (NFSTP), a fun, interactive food safety certification program developed by the Canadian Food and Restaurant Association (CFRA).
The National Food Safety Training Program, approved by the NL Department of Health and Community Services, is a must for the food safety conscious restaurant operator!
FOOD SAFETY TRAINING: A SMART BUSINESS DECISION
The annual occurrence of food borne illness, sometimes called food “poisoning” in Canada is staggering! It is estimated by Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada that 11-13 million Canadians fall ill every year after consuming tainted food. Most of these illnesses could have been easily prevented and are caused by poor food handling practices such as time-temperature abuse, cross contamination and poor personal hygiene.
Our full day training program will benefit your organization in several ways:
1. Make Better Food Safety Decisions
Your staff will possess the information necessary to make better food safety decisions. This will greatly reduce the likelihood that food served at your establishment will be the cause of food borne illness.
2. Improved Health Inspection Results
The application of your newly acquired knowledge will lead to better health inspection reports. A positive report, now posted online for easy public viewing, will give your patrons greater confidence in your food handling abilities and will lead to new customer visits.
3. Protect Your Investment
An outbreak of food borne illness associated with your establishment or closure by health authorities due to non-compliance with food safety regulations will gravely tarnish your reputation. This will negatively impact your bottom line if not completely destroy your business. Remember the old adage “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
4. Reduce Staff Turnover
Operators and managers must lead by example and demonstrate their commitment to food safety. Training will let your staff know that handling food safely and maintaining a clean kitchen is very important to you. Staff will also feel more valued which will lead to greater confidence and pride in their work.
5. Food Safety Recognition
If you have a satisfactory inspection history and have certified food handlers on site the Department of Health and Community Services may recognize your dedication to food safety through their food safety recognition program. If eligible, you will be issued a “Food Safety Served Here” certificate to display in your establishment.
