Owned and operated by Pamela Cicci, Gwen’s Teas opened in October 2012.

As a long time resident of St. Catharines, and firm believer in the downtown core, I jumped at the opportunity to become part of the downtown business community. I believe fate stepped in when I stopped by Special Teas Inc. for a browse, and after a short conversation with the owners, discovered the store was for sale.

When deciding on the name of the teashop, I knew it had to be Gwen’s Teas in honour of my grandmother. Nana Gwen immigrated to Canada from Wales in 1952 and tea was a staple of her household. Whenever we visited she would put on a pot of tea, extra milk and sugar when we were young. The tea got stronger as we got older and the visits became more and more special. Even when her health failed and Nana was in the hospital, most visits included a cup of tea.

I learned from Nana that there’s always time for tea, and that good conversation and great memories happen easily over a cup. Welcome to my store. I look forward to helping you create your own warm memories.
