I became passionate about women’s health while working on the maternity ward as an RN. I was so enthralled with natural childbirth that I devoured book after book on midwifery, and looked into how to become a midwife. Alas, life had other plans, and instead I became a wife and a mother (although I certainly wouldn’t change that for the world!), choosing to not go back to work as an RN. My own labour was completely different than I had planned/anticipated, and long story short, I came to see the importance of having a woman support person during birth. Having a child (pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and parenting) was life-changing for me, as I believe it is for everyone. It was empowering, healing, invigorating, and surprisingly challenging.

I have become convinced that women need other women’s support, in everything from labour to breastfeeding to everyday life, and that we are biologically programmed for this woman-to-woman support. In April 2016, I went through doula training with Birth Ways International to further my knowledge of supporting women during labour and immediately postpartum.

I believe that birth and motherhood are transformative. My hope is that by supporting women and their families in these experiences, I can have a positive impact on the life of each new baby that comes into this world, as well as helping parents feel empowered and supported.



In case anyone ever needs it, I also offer miscarriage support services. Having been through miscarriages myself, I know that sometimes you simply need another woman to sit with you as you labor - as you bleed and cry and pass that baby that held so many hopes and dreams for your future together.

I also am always willing to talk about miscarriage options (I know that first time I was sitting in the hospital with a few options given to me, I would love to have discussed them with someone who had been through them). If there is any way that I can help, please just text or call.
