Since 1977 The Block Parent Program has served the people of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and the surrounding rural communities by creating a network of safe houses

The Block Parent Program is a registered charity that is operated by volunteers with over 300,000 police-screened participants, the Block Parent® Program is the largest, volunteer-operated, child safety, crime prevention program in Canada.

Interested in creating a safer community by becoming a Block Parent? Anyone over the age of 18 years who has successfully passed the Block Parent® Program of Canada's Safe Steps Screening Process. Volunteers can be single, married, divorced and may work outside the home.
