About the Director
Johanna Waldorf, ARAD, RAD RTS
Graduate of the Vancouver Goh Ballet Professional Program, former soloist of Balletto del Sud, Italy, and dance educator with a diploma in dance teaching from the Royal Academy of Dance through Durham University, UK, Johanna has been inspired not only by her professional career on stage, but also years of educating young dancers.
Her passion for teaching began at a very young age when asked to assist with younger levels at her childhood ballet school. Throughout her professional dance career she continued her teaching path, instructing daily ballet classes to students at Goh Ballet summer schools, the School of Balletto del Sud, and multiple levels of the Arts Umbrella Dance Program. Although she utilizes the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi and examinations, her methods have also been diversified through training and performance in other styles and techniques such as Vaganova, Cecchetti, Bournonville, Balanchine, as well as multiple modern and contemporary dance techniques. Johanna hopes to share her passion, knowledge, and experience to her students through Waldorf Ballet.
