Berwyn is nestled within the Peace River Region of northwestern Alberta. Situtated on Highway # 2, the Village of Berwyn is only 37 km. from the Town of Peace River. Berwyn is a quiet community with a population of 561 (2006 census). It is a picturesque community that attracts young and old. Because of the long summer days and good soil, the rural community has been able to maintain a steady population.
Village of Berwyn, the little town with the tower. Berwyn was one of the last communities in Alberta with a wooden water tower. The tower was a local landmark until it was taken down in 1982. Berwyn has a number of businesses such as Druckers Hardware store, Berwyn Bigway, Berwyn Pharmacy, Trinity Repair, Berwyn Hotel, & Mackenzie Municipal Planning Agency. In addition, Berwyn has a small Municipal library, an arena, Lloyd Garrison School, a Senior drop-in centre, and an active volunteer community.
