Tourism Radium Hot Springs - 1-888-347-9331

Relaxed, Authentic, Personal

A WELCOME CENTRE: The Visitor Centre employees are instrumental in directing visitors to local businesses and attractions and in many cases influencing their decisions on staying an extra day or two. They are that all important “first impression”, the welcoming ambassadors of our community.

A MARKETING CENTRE: The Chamber of Commerce toll-free number, website and email address are the call-to-action on all of Tourism Radium’s marketing efforts so the Visitor Centre staff are extremely important in “completing the sale”. Employees field thousands of phone calls and emails requesting information on businesses, attractions and activities in the area. The Visitor Centre is our “front line” for direct contact marketing to the hundreds of thousands of visitors that pour through our community every year. This type of one-on-one marketing far outweighs the effectiveness of most other forms of advertising we do. Our welcoming, engaging and friendly staff with their treasure trove of information goes a long way to insure that our visitors have an enjoyable stay and come back again and again.

A TECHNOLOGY CENTRE: The Community Access computers in the Visitor Centre are a boon to tourists and locals requiring fast and easy access to internet services. Visitors use the site for emailing loved ones, planning activities, booking accommodation and travel research. Residents quite often access government programs and research.

A KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION CENTRE: The Visitor Centre also gathers market intelligence for local business on the demographics and needs of visitors to the community thus guiding local business and government decisions on marketing direction and infrastructure planning. Employees are a wealth of knowledge for backcountry safety, avalanche danger, road and trail conditions and wildlife interaction advice.

AN INFORMATION CENTRE: The Visitor Centre is a central hub for information
providing directions and advice on places to eat, to stay and to shop as well as activities and recreational opportunities. It performs an interpretive role for the natural, cultural and heritage history of the area. With the assistance of Parks Canada staff the Visitor Centre provides a wealth of information and direction for the Mountain Parks system.

A CRISIS CENTRE: When emergencies or weather events cause turmoil the Visitor Centre is the go-to place for valuable information for visitors and residents. Employees frequently are involved in conflict intervention and are mediators between visitors and businesses or sometimes just a “sounding board” and a sympathetic ear.

A COMMUNITY CENTRE: The Visitor Centre is often the first point of contact in the community, not only for visitors, but also for those thinking about moving to the community. It is also a focal point for events and tours.

A RETAIL CENTRE: The Visitor Centre is an attraction in its own right having a wonderful local wildlife, geographical and native cultural interpretive centre. It is also a retail source of souvenirs and mementos of the community.

So, as you can see the Visitor Centre is all of these and more and a very valuable asset to the community, the businesses, to local residents and, of course, to our most valued visitors.
