The Well-Made-Walrus : Not-so-shabby Crafted Wares.

Hello, my name is Clare and I am a maker. My inspiration for The Well-Made Walrus started two years ago when I was laid off from the big box store I had worked at for 6 years due to the fact so much of their business was moving online.

Being laid off in February in Canada meant many long, cold days of job hunting ahead and the need to find a new hobby to keep from going stir crazy soon arose. For inspiration I went sifting through the many crafts I had saved on Pinterest for when I “had time”. I found a link I had saved to these adorable bunnies (http://makezine.com/2011/04/08/craft_pattern_spring_bunny/) designed by the talented Stephanie over at All About Ami (http://www.allaboutami.com/) and thought “I need to learn how to crochet so I can make these some day”.

And so, deciding that crochet was the perfect hobby to learn to pass by the cold winter days, I rushed out to buy some yarn and hooks and fell in love with crochet. Two years later you can still find me with some yarn and a hook nearby more often than not.
