The Hearing Specialists is a locally owned and operated private practice clinic offering three locations; Elmsdale, Upper Tantallon and Chester. We are dedicated to providing superior hearing health care individualized for each patient.

Our certified audiologists provide complete hearing evaluations, hearing instrument sales service and repairs, custom hearing protection, assistive listening device sales, custom fit hearing protection, specialty molds, and many other hearing health needs. We are DVA, WCB and NIHB providers and offer direct billing for verified patients with Blue Cross.

Dr. Kim McCarthy is a doctor of Audiology and certified through Speech Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). She is a member of SAC the Speech and hearing association of Nova Scotia (SHANS) as well as Sounds+.
Dr. McCarthy is able to provide a superior level of knowledge to her patients thanks to her diverse background and experience having worked in a hospital setting as well as for two large international hearing aid manufacturers and now in Private Practice.

Jenna MacKay is a certified audiologist with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada and a member of SAC, SHANS and Sounds+
Jenna’s interests lie in promoting hearing health care and using the most up-to-date techniques to assess and treat the auditory system. She is very compassionate and dedicated to giving superior care that is individualized for each patient based on their communication and lifestyle needs.
