The library will occupy the entire first floor of the former Oxford Hotel.
We are fundraising to furnish the new library and have set a target goal of $140,000. We need the community's help!
Tavistock Library is moving this summer!
The 1916 Carnegie building was a fine old building, but the library has outgrown it. It is inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues, and at only 1,400 square feet, cannot offer anything but the most basic library services.
We're appealing to community to help us furnish the new space. Highlights include:
- lots of comfortable seating
- increased DVD collection displayed on new retail-style browsing racks
- program room furnishings
- cafe ledge near front window, self-serve hot beverage machine
- homework study area furnishings
