Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of any person who needs our help.
Our organizational structure is comprised of thrift stores, food bank and counselling services, low-rent housing, and a day program for adults with developmental disabilities.
The purpose of our thrift stores is two fold:
First, to provide inexpensive clothing and household goods to the community. Second, to support our outreach programs through the funds raised.
The Social Concern Office serves the Victoria downtown population with food, clothing, household goods, counselling services, tax preparation, and a variety of other programs based on need.
The Society currently has an apartment building in downtown Victoria, serving 39 hard-to-house individuals. Plans are underway to build a second facility that will serve single women as well as single mothers.
The Frederic Ozanam Centre serves 50 individuals with developmental disabilities. Our clients participate in a number of activities, both recreational and educational. Our goal is to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.
