Jaffray Fire |Department is a paid on call fire department with a career Fire Chief and Deputy Chief. We provide Fire Suppression, First Responder (medical), and Vehicle Rescue services. Training is ongoing Tuesday evenings @ 7PM.
In September 1995, the Regional District of East Kootenay, with the direction of founding Fire Chief John Betenia and community approval of RDEK bylaw opened the Jaffray Volunteer Fire Department. The department has expanded and we now currently have 21 firefighters and 5 Dispatchers with 13 of them being first responders.
