The QVJHL was established in 2014 as a four team Junior hockey developmental league for PJHL, SJHL Junior Leagues, ACAC & NJCAA College Leagues and QVHL, HHL, Big 6 & THL Senior Hockey leagues. Today the league has 8 teams with 2 divisions.
The QVJHL was established in 2014 as a four team Junior hockey developmental league for PJHL, SJHL Junior Leagues, ACAC & NJCAA College Leagues and QVHL, HHL, Big 6 & THL Senior Hockey leagues. Created to accommodate junior hockey players who may be attending university, trade school, high school or have entered the workforce that wish to continue to play competitive Junior hockey after graduating from minor hockey.
Today the Qu’appelle Valley Junior Hockey League has a 20 game schedule and includes eight junior mens hockey clubs: Balcarres Broncs Junior Hockey Club, Bredenbury Tundra Junior Hockey Club, Cupar Canuck Junior Hockey Club, Lumsden Jaxx Junior Hockey Club, White Butte Eagles Junior Hockey Club, Regina River Rats Junior Hockey Club, Wolseley Mustangs Junior Hockey Club and the Yellowgrass Wheat Kings Junior Hockey Club. The QVJHL is open to all players 15 to 21 years of age and the season begins in early October.
The Qu'appelle Valley Junior Hockey League champion is also crowned the winner of the Saskatchewan Junior C Provincial Championship.
