Early Learning to Grade 6 - "A community of hope and learning."

Our Lady of the Assumption School is a faith community dedicated to educating the whole child while respecting the needs and gifts of each individual. Tucked away in a quiet south neighbourhood, we have a long history of academic excellence in a very safe and caring learning environment.
Our school has strong academic programs. We are implementing a Continuum of Support to assist students from grades 1-6. We also have excellent complementary courses programs. We strive to achieve the 21th Century classroom as our students often use our lab, mobile laptop cart, mini lab, and Smartboards. In addition to our excellent Gr. 1-6 programs, we offer a Early Learning Program to 3-4 year old students and an AM and PM Kindergarten classes. We have a special relationship with Our Lady of the Assumption Church and we often visit the church.

We have many “extras” including: year-end field trips for all classes, a Gr. 6 Outdoor Education trip, student assemblies and theme days, intramurals, social justice and charity events, family group events, School Council hot lunch days, Gr. 6 Basketball, Choir, Running Club, Gr. 5-6 Ski Trip, Readathon, Jump Rope For Hearts, and many other events.

We have a variety of supports for our students including: our new Continuum of Support, Family School Liaison Counselor, Speech Therapist, School Resource Officer, Inclusive Education Coordinator, Educational Assistants, School Nurse, and FNMI Liaison. We also have on-site “It’s a BLAST” and “Kinder Kare” before, during, and after school care program that allows parents to access child care between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
