Okotoks Pro Rodeo is held annually in a indoor arena. We are celebrating our 24th.year. It is a non -profit organization and run entirely by volunteers.
We host visitors and contestants from all parts of the world, from Canada, USA, Australia, Europe, New Zealand.
There are many events in the Town of Okotoks during our weekend of rodeo events, so a lot to do for everyone.
Rodeo is a part of a very unique lifestyle, promoting our western heritage and western way of life, handed down from our forefathers who developed various events and evolved them into competitions of individuals and animals competing against their neighboring ranches to see whose outfit had the most skilled cowhands and the best animals. We portray these skills to our audience for everyone to enjoy, plus to continue the legacy, via our skilled contestants and the great animals.
Our rodeo is important to the contestants as we are one of the last rodeos for them to help qualify for the Canadian Rodeo Finals. Featuring great stock to help our contestants acquire the winnings they need.
Our events include Bareback, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Tie Down Roping, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, plus two of the crowd favourites, Wild Pony Races, and Mutton Bustin.
