Here’s how it works:

Let’s say you work as an agent for EXIT Realty. You introduce Mary to your broker and she is recruited as a salesperson. At EXIT, this introduction is called sponsorship. As Mary’s transactions close you are paid an amount equivalent to 10% of Mary’s gross production as a special bonus. This is paid from EXIT Realty’s head office and is deducted from the broker’s portion of the commission.

Now let’s say you need some time off or retire from real estate. A sort of "pension plan" is created from the sponsoring bonuses that you have established at a rate equivalent to 7% of Mary’s gross production. You also retain the privilege of enhancing your bonuses while in retirement by continuing to sponsor salespeople into the company.

And EXIT has thought of your family too. Should something happen to you, your sponsoring bonuses turn into a 5% beneficiary residual providing added security for the ones you leave behind.
