In 1995 Christian and Shigi Walz established their family-owned business in Vankleek Hill’s business park. This location was chosen for its ready access to markets: Montreal, Ottawa and the U.S. border are less than an hour away.

Initially METEC provided machine shop and millwright services to local industrial and agricultural customers while offering jobs for skilled employees and training opportunities for apprentices. Today, after a period of steady growth and three major expansions, the company continues to offer precision machining, fabrication, manufacturing and assembly services as well as custom prototyping and design .

METEC also partners with a number of Canadian and international firms to bring innovative technologies to North American markets and expand its problem-solving capabilities.
