LSIB ADMINISTRATION, LANDS AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT HISTORY

1970’s – First Band office was located in the home of Theresa Dennis
1973/1974 – Second Band Office opened in the old barber shop in Keremeos with John Terbasket hired as the first Band Manager
1973 – First LSIB audited statement completed
1975 – INAC devolved federal programs and service delivery to LSIB – Education, Social Development, Public Works and Housing. LSIB followed the INAC Membership regulations
1976 – Third Band Office relocated to the old theatre in Keremeos
1984/1985 – First LSIB Community Development Plan completed by David Nairne and Associates.
1984 – First computerized financial accounting system established
2004 – LSIB Physical Development Plan completed
2005/06 – LSIB went under remedial management of INAC voluntarily in two phases.
2004 – LSIB Second Community Development Plan completed and approved in principle
2005 – Draft Land Use Plan completed
2006 – First LSIB Information System server installed
2006 – Developed email policy to support email plans
2006 – Developed and implemented Team Leader job descriptions
2007 – LSIB Corporation Structure developed with the Chief and Council and Capacity Forestry Management Limited with regards to Economic Development.
2008 – Developed first LSIB Salary Grid
