Baillie Broekema's small business: Vegetable gardening, lawn maintenance and much more!
My name is Baillie Broekema (Previously Mewhiney) and my Grandfather was Glen Mewhiney. He was known as "Little Moe" by his friends, family and co-workers. He worked until his retirement at the Town of Lincoln, and after he retired, he worked on our family farm. His favourite hobby was working in the out of doors.
On our family farm we have:
Apple Trees
Pear Trees
A single Cherry Tree
Grapes
Acres of grass that needs to be maintained
Flower Gardens
and
A very large Vegetable Garden
My Gramps passed away on the 12th of October in 2011 from Cancer. He first was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma more than a decade ago, but he beat the odds and survived. He received a clean bill of health after a long battle.
In the spring of 2011, Gramps was diagnosed again, except this time he had Leukemia. He passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family. We miss him every day, and this is my way of honouring his memory. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Mewhiney, Children: Randy Mewhiney, Susan Wright, Grand Children: Bryan, Baillie, Braydon (Randy), Ben and Trevor (Sue)
Our family has since taken over the farm, and done our best to keep it the way he would want it. I (Baillie) have taken a particular interest in the grounds, and would like to extend the area of my specialities to the residents of Dunnville, St. Catharines, Jordan, Vineland, Beamsville, and Grimsby
My husband Mike and I were married in September, and I would like to help with the bills through the summer when I do not have work.
I have worked as a work program supervisor, doing landscaping with individuals who have Schizophrenia. I was recently hired onto the District School Board of Niagara, and will have my summer days free to work outdoors. Will also be available some days before the summer if I don't have a call. Evenings are also a possible option. Anyone who would like help with their yard, please contact me for a free estimate!
I especially pride myself on vegetable garden planting, weeding and maintaining. I highly enjoy mowing grass and weed-wacking, however I can only transport a push mower to your property. If you have a riding lawn mower and would still like it done for you, I can gladly use yours and the price will be lower. I also enjoy thinning apples and pruning grapes. If you have an apple tree that needs pruning, I can also do this for you. If you have any questions about services that I don't have listed here, please inquire, I have an open mind!
Thanks for your time!
