Kimberley’s Music Search

Ray Foxworthy, in association with Canoe’s and Brews, Summit 107.5 FM, Jamie Neve Studio, Ray’s Music, Big Magic Design, and Shaw Cable are proud to present Kimberley’s Musical Competition! Join us for 4 consecutive Fridays - as musical talent comes together to compete for some top prizes and the chance to expose their creative genius.

As one of Kimberley’s finest musicians, you are invited to take part and compete. We will have a panel of fabulous judges to decide on their favourite to advance you into further rounds. HOWEVER! If you don’t make the judges cut, don’t be fooled, as there are wildcards that will be announced just prior to the FINALS! Two slotted wildcard spots. So 5 artists will move into the finals.

Be prepared to play on one of the following evenings: September 29th, October 6th, or October 13th. Requested dates will be considered.
Finals will be held on October 20th.

2017 RULES & REGULATIONS

• Groups can have a maximum of 4 people (call Natalie for exceptions)
• Contestants can use any musical instruments they want
• Each contestant will perform a minimum of 3 songs, and a maximum of 20 minutes, in qualifying rounds.
• In the Final round contestants will perform a minimum of 6 songs, maximum of 30 minutes performance
• Use of IPAD or other forms of media are discouraged
• Artists are encouraged to play their original tracks though it isn’t mandatory at all
• Please arrive a minimum of ½ hour prior to your set - although it is encouraged to come out and cheer on your fellow competitors
• Contestants must pre register before September 22nd at a fee of $20 per act. This entry fee is non refundable.

Please note: We encourage performers to stay after the winner is announced and have an open jam with fellow competitors!

COST

$20 – Each artist will receive a complimentary beverage per act they perform. Winner of the night will receive complimentary pitcher of beer (if of age)! Yum

PRIZES

• 1st Prize: 15 HOURS OF STUDIO TIME!!
You will be able to utilize the 15 hours at Jamie Neve’s studio
You will be featured on the morning show with SUMMIT 107 as well as have your recorded song played LIVE.
You will have a guaranteed booked gig with Canoe’s and Brews.

• 2nd Prize: A GUITAR!!
You will have a guaranteed booked gig with Canoe’s and Brews.

• 3rd Prize: A CAJON!!
You will have a guaranteed booked gig with Canoe’s and Brews.
