Healthy Kids Community Challenge South East Grey & Friends - 519-986-2222

The Healthy Kids Community Challenge is taking place in South East Grey County to make it easier for families to be physically active and eat healthy.

A variety of community groups have come together to focus on making it easier for children and their families to be physical activity and eat healthy. We know that physical activity and healthy eating can improve physical health, mental health and overall wellbeing!

But, we know that families have barriers to physical activity and healthy eating, that is where the Healthy Kids Community Challenge comes in.

The Municipality of Grey Highlands, Township of Southgate, and Township of Chatsworth are working with local schools, public health, the community health centre, other community groups, private businesses, parents and youth to identify ways to remove barriers and promote opportunities for healthy living.

The community will be working together over the next 3 years to make it easier to raise healthy children. You might see new policies or bylaws, changes to the physical environment, more social supports, or new and expanded healthy living programs. Although the Healthy Kids Community Challenge is coordinated by the Province of Ontario, our actions will reflect local needs.
