The Southern Alberta MedicAir Society was formed to raise funds for and promote MedicAir. The society is registered as a charitable society with both the Federal and Alberta Governments. Our latest endeavour is to fund and sustain a dedicated medical Rescue Helicopter for this area.
Helicopter Air Lift Operation or H.A.L.O. began operations on July 4, 2007.
H.A.L.O. has been dispatched in excess of 100 times since inception. H.A.L.O. was used extensively during the Irvine flood in June of 2010, assisting with the dramatic rescue of three people.
Our volunteer board consists of healthcare and aviation professionals, as well as members from across the community.
