Community classes in Gaelic language and culture for the people of Baddeck and nearby communities.
Gaidhlig Agam is a community organization created to help spread the Gaelic Language and Culture to the Village of Baddeck and its neighbouring communities. We aim to make the language of our ancestors accessible and affordable to anyone who wants this ancient language grow.
Our language classes will be taught mainly through Gaidhlig Aig Baile (GAB) methods, which concentrates on teaching communication skills rather than reading and writing. Through repetitive uses of the phrases given, gestures and props, you will be guided through your learning while your confidence grows.
We also strive to introduce more of the Gaelic culture to locals, and have included a 6 week song class. This class will not require you to know any language, as the instructor, Goose Cove native, Angus MacLeod, will guide you through the pronunciation, the melody and meaning in the words.
We are also offering a chance for local youth to learn with their peers. The group will meet once a week and explore the language and customs of the Gaelic culture. Space is limited for this group, so please message us (above button) or call to confirm registration.
