A multi-use outdoor education facility located in the 11,000-acre Ganaraska Forest

With hundreds of kilometers of hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and even horseback riding trails right in our backyard, it is little wonder that the Ganaraska Forest Centre is a hub of outdoor recreational activity four seasons round. .

The home of a new 1,580-square meters (17,000-square feet) facility, the Ganaraska Forest Centre offers a trailhead centre where visitors can access a wealth of unique outdoor areas for passive recreational use or by even the most competitive athletes.

Stay for a weekend in the new facility and cozy up around the fireplace in the Great Hall while enjoying indoor accommodations for up to 80. If a more traditional outdoor experience is what you’re after, consider renting the camping area, complete with a picnic shelter and a fire pit to gather around each evening. Engaged couples can consider one of several outdoor wedding ceremony sites and the beautiful Great Hall that holds up to 165 guests, for their special day.

You are welcome to check out our full-size gymnasium, enjoy a snack from our canteen, or rent the weekend kitchen and dining hall to prepare your own meals for your group.

The Ganaraska Forest Centre offers over 20 Ontario curriculum-linked outdoor education programs from which school groups can choose. Stay for a day or get fully immersed in nature and make it a two, three or five-night residential visit.
