Elora Lions Club - 519-820-3195

Serving the community since 1947 by providing annual family events, financial support in the form of donations and sponsorship, and enhancing the parks and playgrounds of Elora.

The Elora Lions Club has been active in Elora since 1947 providing the community with annual family events and other enriching activities of volunteerism, financial support in the form of donations and sponsorship, and enhancing the parks and playgrounds of Elora. Our membership consists of community members from all walks of life and adults of various ages with the common goal of serving the community through various avenues.

With the support of Lions Clubs International, which has the Mission Statement of “empowering volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs”, we are able to affect our wider community through sight related aid; assisting youth in different capacities; contributing to the aid in major catastrophes along with many other aspects of humanitarian service.

The club meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at St. John Anglican Church, from September to May. Meetings consist of planning events, discussing donation/sponsorship requests, guest speakers informing of the needs in the community, and moving forward with the Lions vision of leading the way in community and humanitarian service. The evening also includes some friendly chit-chat, an excellent meal (Thanks Steve et al.!), a bit of tail twisting (there are no tails involved), and the opportunity to speak up about great ideas!
