East Coulee Spring Festival - 403-822-3970

Musical fundraiser for the East Coulee School Museum. 120+ musicians: folk, blues, country, roots, rock & more.

What began as a few local musicians playing for a few hours inside the School Museum, has evolved into the annual major fundraiser for the venerable big old building that was built in 1930. Hundreds of coal miners' kids got their education from grades 1 to 12 here until 1972. Now, as a museum, school & tours come for a 1937 style class and the period-styled rooms. And the home cooking. And the cod liver oil. It takes money to run a museum and it takes heart to keep history alive. The Spring Festival is part of the heart and is a valuable way to raise money, awareness, have some fun, do some dancing and network with musicians & key players in western Canada's roots music scene.
