Our motto, "A Community Working For the Community, Une communauté qui travaille pour la communauté" represents the authority of our volunteer Board of Directors, elected from our community and dedicated to responding to our community’s needs. Our objective is first to ensure that our recreation center and all of its programs and services are well run. Our success builds our ability to share and include all segments of our community. We look forward to continuing to work with our clients, neighbours, other community groups, service clubs and local businesses to make our community a great place to be.

Dovercourt is a hub of activity in the west end, offering a place for people of all ages to engage in programs or just hang out in our welcoming centre. Dovercourt Recreation Association was formed in 1977 as a group of neighbourhood activists determined to improve the quantity and quality of recreation programs and services available. How we have grown! Since 1987, and the opening of the Dovercourt Recreation Centre, DRA has become a registered charity, working in partnership with the City of Ottawa to manage all of the programs and services offered at Dovercourt Recreation Centre and our satellite facilities. Governed by our volunteer Board of Directors, DRA strives to provide the best in recreation for our community.
