Cypress Cottage is one of the original cottages on what locals call the ‘best street in the old town’ of Bayfield. Constructed of Cypress wood boards this cottage has shrugged at time and weather. This very quiet, well wooded street is perfectly situated within walking distance of all that Bayfield has to offer. The beach is three doors down and in the other direction is Clan Gregor Square, Pioneer Park, The Town Hall, Pier and Marina, Bayfield River, Heritage Hiking Trails and the shops and restaurants of the Village.
Cypress Cottage is open concept, clean, bright and sunny with very spacious rooms. It is filled with collected treasures: local antiques, mid century modern chairs, African precious wood dressers and comfy couches and beds. The generous front deck is a perfect place to catch the first rays of sunshine with your morning coffee in the Muskoka chairs. The south facing sun room hosts the dining room and loungers and fills with mellow pink light as the sun sets over the lake.
The entire property is edged by cedar trees and it has a fire pit, basketball net, barbeque, picnic table and lots of open green. There is also a strawberry and iris patch, a raspberry bush and vegetable garden, while peonies, lavender, sage and butterfly bushes abound.
Come and slow down, enjoy yourself and stay awhile. Time seems to have over looked Cypress Cottage and it’s simple ways. We hope you will take away lovely memories and come back to make some more!
