Clearwater Project Venture is an experiential youth program that was created through a partnership between Clearwater River Dene Nation, Dene High School and Ducharme Elementary School. It provides year round activities to youth in grades 6, 7 & 8 that help build connections for youth to each other, the land, their culture and their community.
The purpose of this project is to work with children and youth in the communities of CRDN and La Loche. Participants will be engaged in meaningful activities to prevent and reduce substance abuse, crime, and violence. Clearwater Project Venture delivers year-round activities to students in grades six, seven and eight which include elements of positive youth development, out door adventure and service learning. Clearwater Project Venture is an intensive program with sequenced activities that increase in intensity and risk taking. The activities build on strengths and seeks positive outcomes which are culturally guided, metaphor based and emphasizes experiential learning.
