Clarington Centre for Individual Studies (CCIS) is an alternative high school within the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. Our goal is to help students graduate high school and achieve a successful transition to college or work.

Anyone 16 years of age or older is eligible to attend CCIS. Timetabling is flexible so you can schedule your education around your employment, child care and other responsibilities. We also offer continuous intake so you can start at any time during the school year and work at your own pace.

CCIS has a variety of programs which include:

●High school credit day program to earn credits for your high school diploma (OSSD) or upgrade your marks for college, apprenticeship, or work.

●Paid cooperative education for students who are currently employed.

●Dual credits taught by college and secondary instructors which allow you to earn both a high school credit and a college credit in specific areas, such as skilled trades and culinary.

●Centre for Success Dual Credit Program is a full semester program in a classroom on the Durham College Campus that allows you to earn both a high school and a college dual credit as a “jumpstart” into college.

●Teen Education and Mothering (TEAM) program which allows pregnant teens and mothers aged 16-24 years to continue their high school education, develop parenting skills, and receive on-site childminding for their infants.

●Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) for adult students; your previous work, learning and life experiences may earn you high school credits.

●Maturity credits for adults who originally started high school before September 1999, who may be granted credits for experience in the workforce.

●Correspondence and eLearning courses to accommodate mature students who cannot attend school during the day.
