The Library will be closed December 24, 2013 to January 1, 2014, April 18 to 21, May 17 to 19, June 24 and July 1, inclusively.
Library Card
Library cards and services are free of charge for Chelsea residents. Please come to the Library circulation desk to get your new library card and password (to access your account online).
More than Books
You will find more than books at the Library: audio books, DVDs, newspapers and magazines.
Library Online Catalogue
You may access your account through the online catalogue. This will allow you to check what items you have out and when they are due back. You will also be able to extend the borrowing period if no-one is waiting for the item.

Books Requests
Place special book requests at the Library in person, by phone at 819-827-4019, or by email at bibliotheque@chelsea.ca.

Book Returns
You may use the Town Hall drop-off box to return books when the Library is closed. The drop-off box is located behind the Library, at the side entrance to municipal offices.
Computer and Internet Access
Seven high-speed Internet computers are available for public use. You may reserve a computer for one hour at a time. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 12 to 14 must have written permission from a parent to access the Internet. To reserve a computer, please contact the Library at 819-827-4019
Wireless connection for your laptop
You may use the Library’s free wireless Internet connection from your laptop computer.
Gatineau Valley Historical Society Archives
The Society office and archives are open to the public from September 2013 to June 2014 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 :30 p.m. to 4 :00 p.m. and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Society office and archives are located on the lower level of the Library. The GVHS archives are currently closed for summer 2013 and will re-open on Monday September 16, 2013. As well, the archives will be closed from Friday December 13, 2013 until Sunday January 12, 2014 inclusive. Museum Passes
With your Library card you may now borrow a Museum Pass and borrow your way into some of Canada’s premier museums ans cross-country ski in the Gatineau Park.
Artpass : Free family admission (for two adults and up to 3 youths 13-18) to the permanent collection at the National Gallery of Canada and to the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography
Family Pass: Canada Aviation and Space Museum, Canada Agriculture Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum
Nature Card: Canadian Museum of Nature
Ottawa museum pass: 10 local museums that tell the greater Ottawa story
Privilege Card: Canadian Museum of Civilization, Canadian Postal Museum, Canadian Children’s Museum and the Canadian War Museum
Gatineau Park cross-country Ski Pass.
The passes are on loan for a period of one week from Tuesday to Monday (to take advantage of holiday weekends). It may be picked up on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. and must be returned in person or through the book return slot before 9 am the following Tuesday. Any reserved card that has not been picked up by Thursday 8:00 p.m. may be offered to another borrower.
