School of Public Policy and Administration
Carleton’s School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA) is the foremost policy school in Canada. The School offers a PhD in Public Policy, Master of Arts in Public Administration, as well as Sustainable Energy Policy. A new Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership was also introduced in 2013. A range of diploma programs offer courses on specific topics (Public Policy and Evaluation, Health Policy, Public Management, and Sustainable Development). The overwhelming majority of our graduates find jobs — jobs in the federal government, jobs in provincial governments and, increasingly, jobs in non-governmental organizations.
In January, the School moved into the brand-new environmentally-friendly River Building where students have fantastic new classrooms and comfortable working spaces that overlook the mighty Rideau River. MAPA, the masters’ student organization, organizes a variety of events throughout the academic year, ranging from pub crawls to curling to the highlight of the year, the Annual Banquet.
We look forward to maintaining the SPPA network of new students, current students and 59 years of distinguished alumni.
