My fiance Geoff and I spent over 25 years combined as nightclub DJ's in Toronto and gave it all up to create a quiet homestead on the coast of Cape Breton Island. We moved here permanently in April of 2017 and began living off the land, detached from the grid, using our 4 acre oceanfront lot as a blank canvas to build our dream home. With over 50 countries visited between us our love of travelling, meeting people, experiencing culture and traversing picturesque landscapes defines us. We're avid photographers who have been chasing the perfect sunset along a coastline until we settled for our own on our little piece of paradise. We’re carving out a sustainable, environmentally friendly future for ourselves in a stunning rural community that inspires us to create art & music.
We had intended to travel back to Toronto for winters to DJ until we had completed building our house, but we fell too in love with this place to re-adapt to city life. I work days on our 4000sqft garden and nights at the local tavern while my fiance works to prepare our land with our 1979 tractor, laying ground on a 1500ft driveway winding through the forest to the ocean. We live in a simple trailer we picked up for cheap without heat and needed a viable option to survive the winter here. We decided to buy The Green House on Cabot Trail and turn it in to a summer rental and winter home. We provide accommodations here as well as custom photography tours of the island.
