IF YOU CAN DREAM IT
I CAN WEAVE IT
My name is Georgia Bennett, I was born in Masset, British Columbia. I am of Haida ancestry and I belong to the Yahgu'laanaas Raven Clan. My Haida name is K'inggay 'liwaans (big story telling). I come from a long line of weavers and carvers, my great grandparents are the renown artist and weaver Charles and Isabella Edenshaw.
I use a combination of traditional skills combined with contemporary materials which gives me limitless color combinations that I can use to make one of a kind pieces of art .
I am an established Ravens' Tail Weaver striving to become a Master in my chosen field of Traditional Ravens' Tail Weaving by seeking mentors that are skilled and willing to share their knowledge. I was first introduced to Ravens' Tail Weaving in 2004 with Master weaver Evelyn Vanderhoop and then had the privilege of weaving with master weaver William White in 2011. I have taken a beginners course in Naaxiin weaving taught by Evelyn Vanderhoop in 2013 and an advanced Naaxiin class also taught by Evelyn in 2014 and hope to excel in the art of Naxiin weaving. I am greatly humbled and feel very grounded when I am doing what I love, WEAVING...........
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO POST PICTURES OF MY WEAVING WHEN FINISHED UNLESS ASKED BY THE BUYER...Haawa :D
I believe every one should own a wonderful weaving. If your a performer or just want some regalia to wear to a pot latch. I make my Raven's Tail Weaving affordable and I have a wonderful payment plan.
