Art Camp - 905-854-0511

Is a studio experience for students learning through direct hands on work making art taught by professional artist Allycia Uccello.

This year we are celebrating our 23rd year of inspiring, educating and helping students discover the amazing world of fine art and craft. For the last 23 years children from around the world and locally have been coming to the Art Camp, learning about and creating paintings, sculpture, drawings, and craft. There are students who have graduated from the Ontario Collage of Art and are now practicing artists.

The idea behind the Art Camp is to create a space for children to work with a professional artist, working with rich topics, materials, experiencing what its all about, making their own unique art.

The art camp is run by Allycia Uccello a professional artist of over 35 years experience sharing her talents and skills with students of all ages both in her studio and schools in Ontario. She creates programs for students that are school wide covering several media in painting, murals, sculpture, drawing, glass work, fibre, printing, stage sets, and paper construction. Her current project is a series of new paintings, pastels and sculptures for exhibition over the next year. She has just completed a major mural with 13 classes at Queen Victoria Public School in a 4 story stairwell, a 1700 square foot mural at West Glen Public School and 111 cut out birds for the 100th anniversary of William Burgess Public School for the outside of the building.

Peter Uccello is a craftsman and sculptor who will be running a series of programs in Sculpture, as well as Arts and Science. Students immerse themselves in the world of form, engineering, construction, physics, art, patterns, mathematics and much more.

The Art Camp studio is located at 10280 Second Line in Campbellville Ontario on 40 acres of rolling fields, a forest, ponds, and a creek. This is the perfect setting to have kids appreciate and enjoy the bounty of wildlife and scenery as inspiration to create their art. Lots of room to run around, play, explore, catch and look at frogs, minnows, turtles and amazing bugs. We have even had birds fly into the studio and they become great live subjects for life drawing.

The studio is spacious with lots of interesting art work up on the walls, unusual objects, along with many books on art and reference materials for research. This is an environment that sets the stage for inquiry, instruction, creativity, and production for each student to invent new possibilities through exploration in various art practices.
