The Antigonish/Guysborough Black Development Association's mission is to preserve, enhance and identify educational, cultural and employment opportunities for the African Nova Scotian people of Antigonish and Guysborough Counties.
We offer the following Employment Nova Scotia Programs:

- Job Search
- Resource Library
- Workshops (mock interviews, resume writing, job search tips)
- Upgrading & Training Programs (assistance with completing application forms)
-Access to fax/copier/computers and printers
Funding is Available for Programs like:
-Skills Up Training Program
This program offers financial assistance to help African Nova Scotians get the training they need for a good job. This program is for those who have not receive employment insurance in the past three years.
-Targeted Wages Subsidies
This program offers employers targeted wages subsidies to help hire you.
-Job Creation Partnerships
If you are unemployed and looking for meaningful work experience to help you find a full time job.
-Skills Development
This is a program of Employment Nova Scotia that provides financial assistance to eligible individuals to help them obtain the skills training they need to obtain employment.
-Self Employment
If you are unemployed and want to create a job for yourself by starting your own business. The African Canadian Service Division offers $5000 bursary for those 19-35 for training under 26 wks in addition to Scholarship & Awards Programs for ANS Students.
