The Alberni Valley Tourism Training Program offers free tourism training for front line staff and community members for the Alberni Valley.
The Alberni Valley Tourism Training Program (AVTTP) is a community initiative established by the City of Port Alberni and the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce to train front line staff and Port Alberni residence about the tourism, commerce, cultural, and historical interests that the valley offers.
The tourism training program offers a 5 course module which covers customer service training (through World Host), Tourism, Cultural awareness, and social media tips and tricks.
The goal is to have employees and local residence act as ambassadors for the city to highlight the unique and remarkable aspects of the Alberni Valley to visitors. In turn this will help promote and increase awareness for local businesses, tourism sites, attractions, and activities in the area.
