A Birth Story Doula Services aims to help you create your ideal birth story, by providing information, education, access to resources, emotional support, practical support, and much more.

The role of a birth doula:
- to recognize birth as a key life experience that the mother will remember all her life.
- to understand the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labour.
- to assist the woman and partner in preparing for and carrying out their birth plan.
- stay by the side of the labouring woman throughout the entire labour.
- to provide emotional support, physical comfort, an objective viewpoint and assistance in getting information and accessing resources.
- to Facilitate communication between the labouring woman, her partner and clinical provider.

Basic labour support package includes two prenatal visits, two postnatal visits and labour support.

What can you expect during the visits and labour support:

Prenatal visits: birth planning, planning for life after baby, expectations and wishes of birth partner
Postnatal visits: processing the birth experience, practical support, breastfeeding support, sleep consultation
Labour support: 24/7 on call support from 37 weeks gestation, continual presence throughout labour and delivery, up to three hours after baby is born, comfort measures and emotional support, coaching and focusing on goals


Additional services can also be purchased for a fee, including extra prenatal or postnatal visits, breastfeeding support, sleep consultation and photography packages.
