Welcome to the Summer House!

Our 1200 square foot open concept cottage over looking Lake Huron is located 2 km outside Tobermory on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula. We have 100 feet of natural limestone waterfront overlooking Fathoms Five Marine Park, with a shipwreck off our shoreline. The cottage is well treed and private, with a natural setting to encourage native wildlife and flora.

There are three generous bedrooms, 2 with double beds and one with a bunkbed, which sleeps 6, children included. We have a fully stocked kitchen, with microwave, coffee machine, fridge and stove. There is one bathroom with a shower and a jacuzzi tub. A wall of windows faces north west to capture incredible light throughout the day and sunsets in the evening. A large deck is perfect for dining and relaxing, a propane barbeque is available. There is a second shoreline deck, to soak up the sun and watch the water. The shoreline is rocky with sandy inlets, great for wading and kayaking, and farther out the hull of the China from 1878 is there to discover. Water shoes are recommended. There is a fire pit for marshmallow roasting and late night star gazing.

We are a 5 minute drive to the village of Tobermory. Or, you are welcome to use the bikes to ride into town. Tobermory has many small restaurants, a well stocked grocery store, LCBO and historic library. It also has several kayak and diving outfitters, boat tours to Flower Pot Island and the ferry to Manitoulin Island. During the summer there is a farmers market and local astronomy gatherings as we are a dark sky community.

The Bruce Peninsula Visitor’s Centre is located in Tobermory. There you will find all the information you need to access the Bruce Trail for hiking. Some of Ontario’s most spectacular rock formations are located on this varied trail that extends from Tobermory to Southern Ontario, along the Niagara Escarpment. There are several different hikes you can do, allowing all skill levels the ability to explore this incredible environment.
