Quilchena Parent Advisory Council

The Quilchena Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

The Quilchena Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the voice of parents for our school. As a parent or guardian of a student at Quilchena, YOU are automatically a member of the PAC!

The PAC is the voice of parents for our school. We are here to support our children’s educational experience. Not only do we have a say in matters that affect our school, but we also host fun events, fundraisers and other activities throughout the year.

Keep up-to-date with what is happening at our school by "liking" our Facebook page. If you know other Quilchena parents who are on Facebook, please invite them to follow us!

For more information, check out our website at: http://quilchena.sd38.bc.ca/Parents/PAC. The website is updated regularly, so please bookmark it and check back often!

You can also email us at: quilchenapac@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer, if you have any questions, or if you have suggestions on how to make our children's educational experience a better one. We look forward to hearing from you!

For parents who would like to post comments on our Facebook page, please refer to "Policy 415, 415-R and 415-G Acceptable Use of Information & Communication Services" from the School District website: http://www.sd38.bc.ca/board/Board_Agendas/FOV4-000B1A5A/FOV4-000B9457/Item%209(c)(i)(a)%20Use%20of%20Info%20and%20Com%20Svcs.pdf

In particular, the following policies are most applicable:

• Relate specifically to school activities and programs or student produced materials
• Have prior permission to use any content that has not been created by the student or the school
• Follow guidelines and policies for appropriate content as stipulated in this and other district policies
• Publication of pictures, photographs, and audio and video recordings of students must:
o Not contain personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, the full names of students (use of first names is acceptable).
o Have the express permission by the students’ parent or guardian to publish the media containing their child’s image or recording.

3.9.4. Posting materials on social media sites such as on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc. should follow the same regulations and guidelines as for publishing materials via other means.

Users should consider anything that is published to a social media site would be public and permanent; therefore, users should exercise discretion before posting anything.

Users should be aware that they might be directly liable for inappropriate postings on the Internet that could include, but is not limited to, appropriate disciplinary actions and the involvement of law enforcement authorities.

Thank you for helping us to keep our site safe, family-friendly and informative!
